Have you ever had a pair of shoes or boots that you loved and they 

broke or you wore out the soles?  One day, my colleague and I went out of 

the office for lunch and decided to drop off some shoes to a Shoe 

Cobbler.  When I arrived, the cobbler suggested new heels and sole 

protectors. His estimated cost was less than 1/3 of what I would have to 

pay to replace the shoes and that’s if I could ever find them again in my 

size. 

 

The cobbler said he was busy and it would take about a week to 

repair my shoes. He handed me a tag with a date on it.  As I looked at this 

important receipt, necessary to pick up my shoes, I was saying to myself 

“I’m going to lose this.”  I thought, wouldn’t it be nice if they would call or 

text me to pick them up like a CVS does when someone drops off or calls 

in a prescription. I’d even pay a little extra to have them shipped to my 

house when done to save me time.

 

In 2010, we launched O FIX MY SHOE, LLC., which integrated 

these ideas. We offer the first self-serve drop-off and pick-up services.  

The company utilizing convenient lock-boxes, similar to lockers allowing 

access to 24 hour services. Customer Service notifies with an email, call, 

and/or text (as requested by the customer), to inform them when their 

order is completed.  In addition, mailing options are available to meet the 

needs of all consumers.
